Testing for Simple Sugars - The Benedict's Test

Aim: To test a sample of food to determine whether it contains simple sugars.

Equipment: Bunsen burner, test tube tongs, Benedict's Solution, a sample of food.

Method:
1.Place about 2mL of the sample in a test tube.
2. Add 3-5 drops of iodine and mix.

Results: If complex sugars (i.e. starch) are present the iodine solution will change from a brown color to a blue/black color. If the iodine solution does not change color then no complex sugars are present.

When the benedict solution was added into the orange juice and heat was applied the orange color went from orange to green because the Benedicts turned from blue to red-brown but if you mix it with orange it turns into green.

How to make speeches better

You can start your speech with a rhetorical question of creating interest. And you can put pictures in aswell to make it more presentable. You can also have alliteration and what that means is like rhyming. It is when letters sounding the same and kind of having the same meaning. You can also use onomatopoeia like bam, zap or zoom to describe the sound of what happened.

He was scared because Olivia's parents might not like him but in the end, it turned out pretty good and Olivia's parents actually like him.

2. Why does Justin greet the different members of the family in four different ways? Explain each greeting. When Justin met Olivia's parents he acted kind and friendly to let Olivia's parents that he won't treat Olivia bad. And when he met August he acted cool to let him know that Olivia's boyfriend is cool. And for Olivia, he kisses her.

Is she right? She felt bad because she didn't tell her parents about the play because she doesn't want people to see August's face and she doesn't want to be known at her school to have a deformed brother. I don't think she's an awful person because she spent most of her life people knowing as having a deformed brother. Imagine everyday people making fun of you or knowing you as having a deformed brother.
